The STaR Loan Program can be used with several home loan programs, including FHA loans, VA loans, USDA loans, and conventional loans. Whether you’re looking for a fixed-rate or adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM), STaR provides options tailored to your needs.

Who Qualifies for STaR?

The STaR Loan Program is open to both active and retired professionals in eligible fields. To qualify, you must fall into one of the following categories.

Teachers, principals, and school counselors

• Those currently employed full-time with a teaching credential in a public or private K-12 school.
• Those retired from such a position.

Law enforcement officers

• Those currently employed full-time as a police officer, sheriff, highway patrol officer, or trooper with city, county, or state law enforcement.
• Those retired from such a position.

Firefighters and first responders

• Those currently employed full-time as a firefighter, EMT, or paramedic with a city, county, state, or private company.
• Those retired from such a position.

Correctional officers and border patrol agents

• Those currently employed full-time as a correctional officer or border patrol agent.
• Those retired from such a position.

How to Qualify

If you qualify, you can use this program to purchase a primary residence, buy a new home, or refinance to reduce your loan amount, interest rate, or monthly payments. Whatever your goals, we’re here to make the mortgage loan process easier.

Here’s how to qualify:

• Present proof of your employment status in an eligible profession.
• Retired professionals must provide proof of retirement (e.g., a retirement statement).
• Choose the best loan type for you (FHA loan, VA loan, USDA loan, or conventional loan).
• Meet standard loan requirements (such as credit score) for your chosen product and loan amount.
